The Museo de Duomo is next to the cathedral and contains some exceptional riches. The rarest of these is the Treasure of Canoscio – beautiful 6th Century liturgical silver, possible hidden by the priest when Totila and the Goths invaded, and found again 1,400 years later in 1932. The enamelled altar frontal, thought to have been donated by Pope Celestine II, is 12th Century and depicts Christ, the Evangelists and scenes from the Life of Christ.
