The Modern Art Gallery is housed in a building that dates back to the first half of the 1770s, is inside a big garden and is spread over two floors. The ground floor is where the great temporary exhibitions are held and on the first floor there are the contemporary art collections. The Villa delle Rose stands in the middle of a big park and was opened to the public in 1928. Inside is another section of the gallery where monographic exhibitions are held and dedicated to the artists of the last decades of Italian art.
