The Museum of Prehistory is dedicated to the Bolognese naturalist Luigi Donini. It holds some amazing life-size reconstructions of extinct animals of the last glacial period. Visitors can also enter a cave and visit a Villanovan hut. The museum is housed on two floors and is divided into different exhibition areas. The large skeletons include the steppe’s Bison, the Giant Deer with huge antlers, known as Megaloceros, and the Hyena Spelaea, which were discovered in several deposits of the Gessi area.
