Como’s Duomo was constructed over four centuries and represents an important example of architecture over that time. The façade to the west is Gothic with very elegant sweeps of marble among beautiful long windows and a fine collection of statues. Niches in the doorway hold statues created by the Rodari brothers, both who found fame in Rome. The brothers were also responsible for creating the sides of the cathedral that includes the northern doorway, the Porta della Rana, known as the Frog Door.
