The Duomo is situated at the highest point of the town of Amelia. The building, with its brick façade which replaced the earlier Romanesque church, owes its appearance to the total remodelling which took place in 1640. All that remains of the 11th Century work is the dodecagonal bell tower. The interior has some important artwork which includes a panel attributed to Antoniazzo Romano depicting a Madonna and Child. There are also several paintings in the Orataorio del Sacramento by Nicolo Pomarancio.
