The drive up the steep road leading to the Castle Angera at Arona passes a natural cave known as the ‘Wolf’s Den’. At the castle you can visit the Doll Museum. The collection is of Italian dolls which date from the early 19th Century up to the 20th Century and are truly amazing, from a simple wooden doll to the more elaborate collectors’ dolls. There is also a section dedicated to children’s clothes and other toys from the 18th Century to the 20th Century.
