Comacchio has its very own Museum of the Marches where the rich history of the area, nature and civilisation, are brought together. This open air museum is more than exhibits, with talks and explorations around the territory itself. Visitors learn about the plant and animal life as well as customs and traditions of the local people. This includes the lagoons and the ‘casoni’, the old homes of the marsh dwellers, still with their furniture and equipment. Foce Station, the starting point for the boat trips, is signposted from Comacchio.
