The S. Maria Assunta Collegiate Church in Arco was built between 1613 and 1617 and redesigned in the present neo-classic style in the 19th Century. It was erected on the site of a Franciscan convent which dated back to 1492. S. Maria Assunta was designed by the imperial court architect Giovanni Maria Filippi of Dasindo in Romanesque and Gothic style. This old parish church contains some priceless altars, sculptures, paintings and a fine collection of chalices and crosses.
