The Collection of waxes is the latest addition to the Citadel of Museums, a collection that consists of 23 anatomic waxes, by the Florentine sculptor Clemente Susini. These sectional models were made from plaster casts for anatomical study and reproduce in detail all parts of the human body. The models are made up from different types of medium such as coloured waxes, resin, tallow, pitch and balsam. These were made for the viceroy Carlo Felice by Clemente Susini from Florence and were kept in a wing of the Cittadella dei Musei.
