The Civic Museum in Bolzano is home to many fine works of art from the middle ages to the present day. Some of these treasures include things like Madonnas, carved crucifixes and Gothic altars. Recently restored is a wooden statue of the infant Jesus and there is a wide collection of traditional masks and costumes. Also here are several stuben (rooms with wooden furnishings in true Alpine Germanic tradition). From the top floor of the museum there is a terrific 360 degree view which takes in the Dolomites and Alps.
