The Archaeological Museum of Canosa di Puglia is housed in Casieri mansion. There is a large display spread in ten richly storied halls. The first hall contains a funerary statue of a praying subject (Orante). In the other halls there is a set of early Christian oil lamps discovered in St. Sophie’s Catacomb (Catacomba di Santa Sofia); Daunian pottery in a geometric pattern and some local vases with gold decorations. Also here are a Roman portrait from the 1st Century and a copy of a bronze tablet from 223 AD, found in 1676. Entry to the museum is free.
