The Church of St. Anthony of Padua is said to be one of Italy’s most beautiful and elegant churches. There are precious canvases here, among which are those attributed to Giacinto Platania (1647-1720) and Pietro Paolo Vasta (1697-1760). A fine Crucifix is the work of Brother Umile from Petralia (1580-1639) and wooden statues are by Gennaro Franzese and dated 1749. These statues represent San Pietro d’Alacantara and San Pasquale Baylon. The marble statue of Santa Maria del Gesù is of the Gagini School. There is also a cloister which is decorated with frescoes depicting the life of the saint.
