According to the inscription near the portal, the church of San Silvestro was built in 1195 by Master Binellus. There are remains of a bell tower and also animal bas-reliefs and vines on the embedded portal. Inside, a pillar replaces a column that once supported the tower. The crypt has three aisles and has a single apse which lines up with the one above in the presbytery. The supporting columns are unusual, being tapered and with capitals bearing simplified acanthus leaves.
