The Church of S. Anna was designed and built by the architect Giuseppe Viana between 1758 and 1817 and is the most magnificent church in the whole of the city of Cagliari. Unfortunately it was heavily damaged by bombing during World War Two, but has recently been restored to its original splendour and has a late Baroque Piedmont style. The interior has one nave with laterals chapels, with a fabulous statue of Saint Amedeo di Savoia by Andrea Galassi.
