Canosa di Puglia Cathedral was consecrated in 1101 by Pasquale II. The Neo-classical façade was a 19th Century modification by Malcangi when a new building was added onto the old church. The cathedral has a nave and two aisles with the nave having two canopy-shaped domes. Worthy of note are the ambo by Acceptus from around 1060, and the bishop’s throne dated between 1079 and 1089 by Romualdo and commissioned by bishop Ursone. There is a monumental bench, which is held like a canopy by two elephants.
