The Cathedral of the Holy Mary was built as a replacement for an old church that was dedicated to Saint Cecilia by the Pisans in the 13th Century. Today, the template of the central door, the bell tower and the transept are what remains of the original structure. There are many works of art in the Cathedral that are worth investigating, among which are the pulpit by Guglielmo from Pisa, paintings dating from the 15th and 16th centuries and woodcarvings dating from the 14th Century.
