The Cathedral in Biancavilla was built in the 18th Century. It was restored in the late 19th Century by Carlo Sada who gave it a Baroque look. He also gave it the majestic bell tower with statues of Santa Caterina, San Placido, San Zenone and San Giuseppe. The interior has three naves and fourteen arches. There are ancient works of art such as an icon dedicated to the Madonna dell’Elemosina which dates back to the 13th Century, on cedar-wood.
