The Castro Coastline has a very medieval look about it, but this town overlooking the Adriatic is much earlier. The town is quite high up and descends to the old fishing village of Castro Marina set in a fabulous inlet making it a picturesque area to visit. The beautiful port is home to moored boats and small grottos that act as warehouses for the fishermen. A trip to the Grotta Zinzulusa is a must, because of its spectacular calcareous formations, stalactites and stalagmites. The whole area is dotted with small coves, grottos and impressive rugged cliffs.
