The beautiful coastline around Carovigno is a popular destination for visitors. There are plenty of well equipped beaches here with the sand being extremely fine. The area offers lots of small bays and stretches of rock which are reachable by sea, making it ideal for those who enjoy more secluded locations. The place was inhabited by the Messapii in prehistoric times and later by the Romans and the Aragons who built the watch tower here in 1500. Near the tower is a nature reserve with plenty of organised activities suitable for families.
