The Basilica di S. Sebastiano in Acireale can be found close to the Duomo on the Corso Vittorio Emanuele. The church was built in the 17th Century. The façade is in a typically Baroque style and has a statue-topped balustrade with columns, pilasters, niches and volutes. Inside, the transept and the chancel contain lovely fresco work by the artist Vasta and shows events from the life of St. Sebastian, the patron saint of the city.
