The Archaeological Museum in Brindisi was founded in 1956. There are Latin inscriptions dating from the 1st Century BC to the 3rd and 5th Century in the epigraphic section. Statues can be seen dating from the 1st Century BC as well as Roman statues discovered locally. One section has Greek vases (Corinthian and Attic) and local vases dated between the 7th and 3rd Centuries BC. The museum also has an underwater section which includes two bronze statues found off the coast of Brindisi.
