The arboretum in Arco was created in 1872 by Archduke Albert of the Hapsburg dynasty on the grounds of his villa near Lake Garda. It covers around one hectare and contains a large variety of tree species including Monterey cypress, cedars, a huge sequoia, palms, orange trees, lemon trees, yews, Holm oaks and a magnificent Lawson cypress which is shaped like a candelabrum. It was renovated in 1964 and in 1993 it became part of the Museo Tridentino di Scienze Naturali. Admission is free.
