Alberobello is a town in the province of Bari, within easy distance to Castellana Grotte, Locorotondo and Putignano. This fascinating town has its origins in the 15th Century, being founded by Acquaviva-D’Aragona, two counts of Conversano, on land that was once a forest of oaks. As well as being ‘the trulli capital’, Alberobello is noted for its summer festivals. These are many and varied and include: an international folk festival, music festivals for classical, jazz and popular music, and dance, theatre, and children’s events. The religious festivals often have music performances and firework displays.
